Vice-President Teodoro Obiang Mangue declared that any officials caught engaging in such misconduct would be suspended, emphasizing that it constitutes a serious breach of the country's code of conduct.

Civil servants in Equatorial Guinea who are discovered engaging in sexual activities in their offices will face stringent disciplinary actions, according to a warning issued by the country's vice president following the leak of numerous alleged explicit videos.

The footage is said to feature Baltasar Ebang Engonga, a high-ranking civil servant and head of Equatorial Guinea's National Financial Investigation Agency, involved in intimate acts with several women, including spouses of prominent officials, in his office.

Mr. Engonga, who is also related to the nation's president, has yet to comment on the matter despite requests.

On his social media, Mr. Engonga expressed sadness, posting a photo with a woman and children, captioned: "Family is everything."

Vice-President Teodoro Obiang Mangue declared that any officials caught engaging in such misconduct would be suspended, emphasizing that it constitutes a serious breach of the country's code of conduct. He also directed the installation of surveillance cameras in government offices and judicial facilities to prevent further incidents of this nature.

A statement from the vice president's office indicated that the measures were a response to the circulation of the videos, which, according to the statement, have tarnished the nation's image. An investigation into the matter has been proposed as well.
