The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has licensed 18 cybersecurity service providers (CSPs), accredited seven cybersecurity establishments (CEs), and certified 69 cybersecurity professionals (CPs).

In a speech delivered on his behalf by the Head of the National Computer Emergency Response Team, Stephen Cudjoe-Seshie, CSA’s Director-General, Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako, praised the recipients and highlighted the responsibilities that come with these licenses and accreditations.

The CSA has so far registered 252 CSPs, 65 CEs, and 1,451 CPs, with many more applications in progress.

The Authority also warned that offering cybersecurity services without proper licensing or performing professional duties without accreditation violates the Cybersecurity Act, of 2020 (Act 1038). They emphasized that enforcement measures would be taken against those found non-compliant.

He also used the opportunity to remind unregistered CSPs, CEs, and CPs that their actions contravene Sections 49 and 57 of Act 1038, noting that penalties, including criminal prosecution, could follow for those in breach.

Additionally, the CSA announced the creation of an Industry Forum aimed at shaping policy, supporting regulatory activities, and enhancing industry standards. The Licensing and Accreditation Clinic was also introduced as a supportive initiative to help applicants navigate the registration process.
