The Supreme Court has dismissed a review application filed by Ofoase-Ayirebi MP Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in his challenge against the hearing of selected cases during the legal vacation.
A three-member panel of the court unanimously rejected the application on Wednesday.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah had asked the court to review an earlier decision which dismissed his application for an injunction against the vacation court hearings.
Before the substantive application was heard, his lawyers asked the Supreme Court to adjourn the matter.
Counsel for the MP, Frank Davies, argued that documents from the Attorney-General’s Department had been served late and that he needed time to respond.
The court, however, refused the request for adjournment and proceeded to hear the review application.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah had gone to the Supreme Court over the hearing of what he described as selected cases during the legal vacation.
His earlier application for an injunction was dismissed, prompting the review attempt.
The unanimous dismissal of the review application means the earlier ruling remains in force.
It also represents another setback for the MP’s legal challenge to the conduct of trials during the legal vacation.
