NAM1, the embattled CEO of the collapsed Menzgold Ghana Limited, wants the apex court to put a hold on the High Court proceedings until his appeal is fully heard and determined.
The Supreme Court of Ghana has adjourned the hearing of an application filed by Nana Appiah Mensah, widely known as NAM1, who is seeking to halt his ongoing criminal trial at the High Court.
NAM1, the embattled CEO of the collapsed Menzgold Ghana Limited, wants the apex court to put a hold on the High Court proceedings until his appeal is fully heard and determined.
This follows the Court of Appeal's dismissal of his earlier request to stay the proceedings, insisting he must open his defence.
The application was due for hearing on Tuesday, July 8, but the court clerk announced that the matter has been rescheduled to July 29, 2025.
NAM1 and his two companies are faced with 39 charges, including selling gold without a license, operating an unlicensed deposit-taking business, inducing investment under false pretenses, fraudulent breach of trust, and money laundering, involving over GH₵340 million.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains on bail.
