The Supreme Court has indefinitely postponed the case filed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which challenges a High Court ruling instructing the Electoral Commission (EC) to finalize and declare parliamentary results for four constituencies: Tema Central, Okaikwei Central, Techiman South, and Ablekuma North.
The NDC took legal action at the Supreme Court, seeking to overturn the decision delivered by Justice Forson Baah Agyapong on January 4. The High Court had granted a mandamus application filed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), directing the EC to complete the collation and officially announce the election results for the affected constituencies.
Following the ruling, the EC has so far re-collated and announced results for three constituencies—Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, and Techiman South—while the process remains incomplete for Ablekuma North.
Despite this, the NDC proceeded to the Supreme Court, requesting a reversal of the High Court's decision. However, when the case was brought before the court today, it was revealed that the NDC had not served the NPP candidates involved in the matter.
As a result, the Supreme Court has adjourned the case indefinitely (Sine Die) to allow the necessary legal notifications to be completed.
