The group pleaded guilty to charges of illegal entry.

An Accra High Court has convicted 106 foreign nationals for entering Ghana unlawfully and ordered that all of them be deported after serving their prison terms.

The group pleaded guilty to charges of illegal entry.

In its ruling, the court sentenced 55 of the accused to 28 days in prison, while the other 51 received four-week jail terms.

The case began after a police intelligence operation in October 2025.

Investigators said they received information on 7 October 2025 that more than 100 foreign nationals had been seen around Kuntunse Satellite in Accra under suspicious circumstances.

Police officers who moved to the area reportedly found the individuals staying in a house there.

According to the prosecution, the suspects did not give their true identities when questioned at the scene and were subsequently arrested and taken to the CID Headquarters for further investigations.

Further enquiries, authorities said, established that the accused were nationals of neighbouring French-speaking countries who had entered Ghana at different times between January and October 2025.

The court heard that none of them had reported to the nearest immigration office, produced valid travel documents or completed the legal processes required for entry and stay.

Officials also said none of the convicted persons held lawful permits to live or work in Ghana.

The accused first appeared before the court on 25 October 2025 and formally entered guilty pleas on 12 March 2026.

Following sentencing, the court directed that they be removed from Ghana and returned to their respective countries after completing their prison terms.
