At East Legon’s A&C Mall, the storm led to the collapse of a solar panel structure in the car park, resulting in damage to multiple vehicles.

The management of A&C Mall has pledged to cover the full cost of repairs for customers whose vehicles were damaged following the recent structural failure at the mall’s parking area.

This follows a severe rainstorm on Tuesday afternoon that swept through Accra, bringing with it intense winds and lightning that caused significant damage in parts of the city.

At East Legon’s A&C Mall, the storm led to the collapse of a solar panel structure in the car park, resulting in damage to multiple vehicles.

In an official statement, A&C Development confirmed the incident took place on March 25 and noted with relief that there were no injuries.

"We are aware that the incident affected some of our customers' vehicles. We wish to reassure all those impacted that our insurance partners are actively assessing the situation and will cover all necessary repairs,” the statement said.

The mall’s management emphasized their ongoing commitment to public safety, adding that structural evaluations and improvements are being made to avoid future incidents.

They also extended their gratitude to the Ghana Police Service, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), and the Ghana National Fire Service for their prompt assistance.

Customers in need of support or further information are encouraged to reach out to the mall’s customer service via 0504736514 or 0500094454.

Management concluded by affirming that measures are in place to restore operations and ensure a secure and welcoming environment for all patrons.
