The artist is alleged to have neglected the plaintiff after he injected funds into his music career and signed a distribution deal with Empire Music.

The young and fastest rising Ghanaian artist,  Mohammed Ismail Sharif popularly called Black Sheriff has been sued by Shadrach Agyei Owusu, CEO of Waynes Chavis Consult at the High Court in Accra seeking inter alia an injunction restraining Black Sheriff, his agents, etc from performing at events or exploiting his music without recourse to him.

Additionally, he is seeking an order for the preservation of all funds that have accrued to the artist from online streaming platforms and other revenue sources.

The artist is alleged to have neglected the plaintiff after he injected funds into his music career and rather signed a distribution deal with Empire Music without seeking the consent of the investor whom he is believed to have a Business management contract with.

Per the said contract, Black Sheriff was required to carry on all his business activities through the plaintiff’s company.

Per the writ of summons dated April 11, 2022, the plaintiff is further seeking the appointment of a receiver to receive all funds that may accrue to the artist from the use and exploitation of his music and image until the final determination of the matters in dispute and on the grounds contained in the supporting affidavit.
