President John Dramani Mahama has ordered the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, as well as the Lands Commission, to conduct an audit of all allocated, leased, or sold state lands between 2017 and 2024 with immediate effect.

He, however, acknowledged that a committee by the state Lands has already commenced certain work in that regard and is expected to submit its report soon.

Delivering an address at the inauguration of the reconstituted National Lands Commission, His Excellency stated categorically that any illegal or improper transaction identified would be reversed and such lands given back to the state as stipulated by law.

Additionally, President Mahama mentioned that the temporary ban on state land transactions has been lifted and added that such transactions would henceforth be done within the confines of a transparent procedure via a digital verification system and a strong oversight mechanism.
