The Bank Hospital has strongly denied allegations that it violated the privacy and confidentiality of the late Ghanaian music legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away at the facility on July 26, 2025.
In a statement released by hospital management, the institution described the claims—circulating on social media and allegedly made by influencer Afia Schwarzenegger—as false, defamatory, and lacking any factual basis.
“The Bank Hospital is an internationally accredited facility with a reputation for excellence in medical care and professionalism. We treat all patients, including Mr. Fosu, with the highest standards of confidentiality and dignity,” the statement said.
The hospital clarified that Daddy Lumba’s family was fully involved and informed throughout the course of his treatment and were present at all key stages, including during his final moments.
“At The Bank Hospital, transparency and patient-centred care are core values,” management emphasized. “Mr. Fosu’s family was engaged at every step, from admission to his unfortunate passing.”
The hospital also noted that, as part of standard practice, a post-event review is being conducted to assess the care provided and enhance future service delivery. Any findings, they said, will be shared privately and respectfully with the late musician’s family in accordance with ethical and professional standards.
Hospital authorities further called on the public to exercise caution when discussing sensitive health-related issues, urging Ghanaians to verify such claims through credible and authorized sources.
The statement comes amid a wave of national mourning and tributes to Daddy Lumba, whose death has stirred deep emotions across the country and beyond.
