A circular signed by the Judicial Secretary states that ‘in view of the foregoing, commercial cases will attract the same fees and charges applicable to cases filed at the General Jurisdiction courts.”
Commercial courts will now form part of the General jurisdiction courts as specialized courts.
As such, all commercial cases will now be filed as General Jurisdiction cases.
A circular signed by the Judicial Secretary, Justice Pamela Koranteng states that ‘in view of the foregoing, commercial cases will attract the same fees and charges applicable to cases filed at the General Jurisdiction courts.”
It adds however that Judges who constituted the commercial courts will still sit on commercial cases that are filed in the General Jurisdiction courts.
The circular noted that this development is to retain the continued development of specialization in commercial law and directed all Registrars of former commercial courts to take note for compliance.
