Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has had his bail conditions restored by the High Court in Accra after submitting his passports to the court.
The court had earlier ordered his remand after he failed to comply with a condition requiring him to deposit his travel documents with the Court Registrar.
Abronye DC was granted bail on May 21, 2026, in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two justified sureties.
As part of the bail terms, he was required to submit his passports and other travel documents to the Registrar.
Instead, he filed an application asking the court to vary the bail conditions.
When the matter came up on June 4, the court observed that the passports had still not been submitted.
It dismissed the application and ordered that he be remanded into police custody until he complied with the order.
Abronye DC later submitted the passports to the Registrar on Friday, June 5.
He returned to court on Monday, June 8, represented by Daniel Maatey Addo, who asked the court to vary the remand order.
Counsel told the court that his client had now fully complied with the bail conditions.
The Court Registrar, who was present with the travel documents, confirmed that the passports had been received on Friday morning.
After considering the explanation and the Registrar’s confirmation, Justice Halimah El-Alawa Abdul-Baasit reinstated the earlier bail terms.
The judge, however, cautioned Abronye DC against any further breach.
The court warned that any future violation of the bail conditions would lead to the revocation of his bail.
There was no representation from the Republic when the matter was called.
Abronye DC is facing a charge before the Circuit Court for alleged conduct conducive to the breach of the peace.
He has pleaded not guilty and is expected back before the Circuit Court on June 14.
