Factory manager arrested over cocaine hidden in gari shipment at KIA

A senior manager at a manufacturing company has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) over an alleged attempt to smuggle cocaine out of Ghana.

Sources at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) say the suspect, believed to be a production manager, was picked up after an intelligence-led operation.

Investigators suspect the cocaine was hidden inside a consignment of packaged gari meant for export.

NACOC has not publicly released the suspect’s name. Officials say investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the attempted shipment and to find out whether others are linked to the suspected network.
