The inaugural group of students who benefited from the collaboration between the University of Cape Coast Law Faculty (UCCLaw) and Penn State Law in Pennsylvania, USA, have successfully earned their Master of Laws (LLM) degrees.
This first cohort includes Cecil Kwatelai Quartey, Sarah Adum-Attah, Jonathan Nyaaba, and Amazing Natasha Acquaye.
This marks the first instance of UCCLaw alumni obtaining their LLM degrees from Penn State Law through this agreement.
These graduates, all from Penn State Law, achieved their degrees through a partnership established in 2022 between UCCLaw and Penn State Law, which provided them with full and partial scholarships.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law at UCC, Mrs. Julia Selman Ayetey, expressed her pride in the graduates, stating that their accomplishments demonstrate the international competitiveness of UCCLaw graduates.
She acknowledged the support of the faculty, including lecturers Dr. Ernest Ako and Constantine Kudzedzi, and anticipated the significant contributions these graduates would make both locally and internationally.
The second cohort of students is set to leave Ghana for the USA to begin their studies at Penn State Law in August 2024.
