Four police officers serving under the Western Central Regional Command have received promotions in recognition of their exemplary conduct, professionalism, and commitment to duty, the Ghana Police Service has announced.

The officers honored include No. 47459 General Sergeant Fetus Gameli Kukuia, who has been elevated to the rank of Inspector; No. 52192 General Corporal Christian Asare and No. 52441 General Corporal Nicholas Kingsley Amoah, both promoted to Sergeants; and No. 59947 General Constable Adam Yakubu, who is now a Lance Corporal.

According to a statement from the Police Headquarters, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, together with the Police Management Board (POMAB), commended the officers for their outstanding service. The IGP noted that such recognition serves as motivation for others within the service, emphasizing that exceptional dedication will always be acknowledged and rewarded.

Their promotion follows a decisive operation on April 30, 2025, just a day after five individuals were murdered at Asiyaw near Nsawam. The officers intercepted a Grand Bird bus (registration AS 4431 22) at Bawdie Barrier near Wassa Akropong, arresting three suspects: Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab.

A submachine gun and 21 rounds of ammunition were discovered during a search, leading to the apprehension of Hakeem Imoro, who later revealed that the firearm was handed to him by his superior, Samuel Atsu Forson, also known as Alanyo, who had already been arrested in connection with the Asiyaw killings.

Investigations confirmed the suspects’ involvement in the murders and their attempt to evade arrest.

The Ghana Police Service commended the officers for their vigilance and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of merit, discipline, and dedication in its ongoing efforts to combat crime.
