The Chief Justice of The Gambia, Honourable Justice Edrissa M. O. Faal, has undertaken a five-day study visit to Ghana to strengthen bilateral cooperation and exchange experiences in the administration of justice.

The visit, which began on Monday, 19 October 2026, brought together members of the two Judiciaries to share perspectives on judicial administration and consolidate their existing institutional relationship.

During the visit, Chief Justice Faal met with the Chief Justice of Ghana, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, Justices of the Supreme Court and the Judicial Secretary, Mr. Musah Ahmed. He also held discussions with the Director and Management of the Ghana School of Law.

The Gambian Chief Justice observed proceedings at the Supreme Court in Accra and subsequently at the Court of Appeal in Kumasi, gaining first-hand insight into the work of Ghana’s courts.

While in Kumasi, he paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Chief Justice Faal was accompanied by his spouse, Mrs. Marian Faal; the Judicial Secretary of the Gambian Judiciary, Mr. Abdou Conteh; the Director-General of The Gambia Law School, Ms. Rougi Thomasi; and a Protocol Officer, Mr. Omar Jammeh.
