A Ghana Bar Association delegation led by its National President, Yaw Acheampong Boafo has paid a visit to the Adabraka Chambers of their deceased member, Richard Badombie to sign a book of condolence.

From Adabraka, the delegation proceeded to Ashongman, the residence of the deceased to commiserate with his widow and family.

The delegation included the National Public Relations Officer, Savior Kludze, the Greater Accra Regional President, Agbesi Dzakpasu, Secretary of the Greater Accra Bar, Aurelius Awuku, and member of the Social Media Committee, Kobby Amoah.

In his remarks in the book of Condolence dated May 31, 2022, the GBA National President noted “It is rather unfortunate that such a promising life has been so cruelly truncated. God is in control. Rest in peace learned friend.”

The private legal practitioner, Richard Badombie was shot dead on May 28, 2022, by armed men in a bush at the offside of the road between Banda Nkwanta and Nuoyiri communities on the Bole-Bamboi highway in the Savannah Region.

According to the police report, the deceased together with 3 others, Michael Badombie, Gloria Badombie, Hilarious Badombie, and a “Bull-Dog” were traveling from Accra to Jirapa in a Hyundai Accent saloon car with registration number GN 9890-17 which the deceased was the driver.

However, on reaching a section of the road between Banda Nkwanta and Nuoyiri communities, on the Bole-Bamboi highway, three armed men emerged from the bush and signaled them to stop. While slowing down, one of the armed men ask "are they, Policemen ?" and, immediately shot at Richard Badombie.

The Ghana Bar Association has subsequently in a statement dated May 30, 2022, offered GHC 20,000 for information on armed men who shot and killed their colleague and assured members of the association that it “will do everything within its power to ensure the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of this abominable crime.”

Meanwhile, the Savannah Regional Police says it has arrested three suspects in connection with the incident.
