The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has suspended the licence of Evanex Gold Enterprise, a Tier 2 gold buying firm, after an investigation uncovered breaches of pricing regulations.
The suspension, which took effect on Thursday, August 28, 2025, means the company is barred from participating in any form of gold trade until further notice.
Findings and Directive
According to GoldBod, Evanex was found to have engaged in illegal gold pricing practices that directly violated the terms of its operating licence.
As a result, the regulator has ordered all licensed miners, traders, and the general public to immediately cease dealings with the company.
GoldBod explained that the decision forms part of its broader enforcement drive aimed at protecting market integrity and transparency in Ghana’s gold sector.
It stressed that strict measures are necessary to ensure accountability and prevent unlawful activities that could weaken confidence in the industry.
