A 28-year-old head porter, Kennedy Dadzie, has been granted bail of GH¢50,000 with two sureties by the Amasaman Circuit Court following accusations of stabbing a driver.
Presiding over the case, Judge Enid Marful-Sau ruled that Dadzie’s sureties must provide valid national identification cards at the Court’s Registry. Denying the allegations, Dadzie has been ordered to reappear before the court on April 22, 2025.
According to Police Chief Inspector Salifu Nashiru, the complainant, Kofi Owusu, and the accused both reside in Treba. The case dates back to July 2024, when Owusu discovered that his Samsung A13 phone had gone missing. Upon questioning his wife, she allegedly mentioned seeing Dadzie smoking behind their house at midnight.
Concerned about suspicious activity near his home, Owusu confronted Dadzie and warned him to stay away from the area. This reportedly led to an altercation, with Dadzie allegedly issuing threats.
Tensions escalated on August 5, 2024, when Owusu and a companion, Kwame, encountered Dadzie at a park in Treba. Witnesses claim Dadzie confronted them aggressively, leading to a verbal exchange. The argument intensified when Dadzie allegedly brandished a jackknife and attempted to stab Kwame.
In response, Owusu armed himself with a stick and chased Dadzie, who fled the scene. However, moments later, as Owusu made his way home, Dadzie allegedly reappeared and stabbed him in the left arm before vanishing.
Following a tip-off, police apprehended Dadzie on March 10, 2025. During questioning, he reportedly confessed to the act and was subsequently charged.
The case continues as the court deliberates on the evidence presented.
