The International Chamber of Commerce Ghana (ICC Ghana), in collaboration with ICC Dispute Resolution Services, is set to host the 2nd ICC Ghana Arbitration and ADR Day on March 5, 2025, at the Alisa Hotel, Accra, with an option for virtual participation. The event will explore the theme “Ensuring Justice and Efficiency in Arbitration”, focusing on balancing legal representation and tribunal intervention.
The main program will feature an inaugural session and interactive panel discussions, bringing together legal practitioners, arbitrators, and dispute resolution experts. Notable highlights include the ICC Young Arbitrators & ADR Forum (ICC YAAF) Fireside Chat, which will center on promoting mediation and career development in international arbitration. A networking cocktail event will conclude the conference.
This year's event will be preceded by the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for Africa, scheduled for March 3-4, 2025. The Academy aims to equip professionals with advanced arbitration skills, fostering capacity building within the region.
The conference is expected to welcome over 200 international professionals, including distinguished guests such as His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, who will deliver a special address. The Chief Justice of Ghana, Her Ladyship Gertrude Torkonoo, will present the keynote speech, while Claudia Salomon, President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, will deliver the opening remarks.
The inaugural edition in 2019 attracted more than 100 legal practitioners and arbitrators, providing valuable discussions on commercial arbitration, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). The ICC International Court of Arbitration, renowned for handling over 28,000 international commercial disputes since its establishment in 1923, will play a central role in the discussions.
