In a letter dated July 23, 2025, Mr. Jakpa accuses the former A-G of pressuring him to testify in a way that would implicate Dr. Forson, in order to “fast-track the conclusion of the case.”

Richard Jakpa, Director of Special Operations at National Security and the third accused in the ongoing ambulance procurement trial involving Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has petitioned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to investigate former Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame for alleged misconduct and attempted fabrication of evidence.

In a letter dated July 23, 2025, Mr. Jakpa accuses the former A-G of pressuring him to testify in a way that would implicate Dr. Forson, in order to “fast-track the conclusion of the case.”

He claims to have attached as evidence a recorded phone call held on March 26, 2024, in which Mr. Dame allegedly coached him on how to answer questions about Letters of Credit (LCs) during cross-examination.

The petition also alleges that Mr. Dame asked Jakpa to obtain a false medical excuse duty to delay his court appearance until the then-A-G returned from an overseas trip. Jakpa says he declined, describing the advice as “criminal, dishonest and unethical.”

Jakpa described Mr. Dame’s alleged actions as “diabolical and vicious”, warning that such conduct from a sitting Attorney-General risks undermining public confidence in the justice system and potentially breaching national peace.
