The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has suspended its planned nationwide strike after the government responded to its demands over delayed salary arrears.

In a statement signed by the association’s National President, Samuel Afotey Otu, on Tuesday, JUSAG said the industrial action had been put on hold while it monitors the implementation of the government’s payment plan.

“The planned strike has been suspended pending implementation of the payment plan by government,” the statement said.

JUSAG had earlier announced an indefinite strike from Monday, 19 January 2026, citing delays in the payment of eight months’ salary arrears owed to Judicial Service staff.

The association has now directed members to return to work, urging staff to resume normal duties as it tracks progress on the agreed steps.

After JUSAG declared its intention to strike, the National Labour Commission summoned representatives of the Judicial Service and the Ministry of Finance to hear the dispute.
