The Majority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has been honoured with the traditional title Togbe Nutefeworla I in recognition of his contributions to the development of Kpeve and the wider constituency.
The title was conferred on him by the Paramount Chief of Kpeve, Togbe Aku Dompe, alongside queen mothers and elders of the traditional area during the MP’s ongoing constituency tour.
Installation Ceremony
The colourful ceremony in Kpeve, the district capital, was marked with the pouring of libation and special prayers for the MP’s growth and influence in Parliament and national politics. Residents of the town expressed joy at the honour, welcoming him warmly in the company of the newly appointed District Chief Executive, who also hails from the area.
Constituency Tour
Mr. Dafeamekpor is currently on a seven-day working tour of 50 communities across South Dayi, where he is inspecting ongoing projects, initiating new ones, and engaging directly with constituents. The tour also provides him with an opportunity to explain recent government flagship programmes and policies to residents.
In Peki, the MP and the new DCE were received with a massive welcome. The community, led by the Queen Mother of Peki-Avetile, presented them with the traditional Abotsire, a gesture symbolising trust, honour, and appreciation for their leadership.
Words of Gratitude
Expressing appreciation to the chiefs and people of Kpeve, Dafeamekpor said the title of Togbe Nutefeworla I was a profound honour. He pledged to continue working tirelessly to improve the lives of his constituents and uphold the trust placed in him.
