In a public statement, Mr. Sambian dismissed the accusations as baseless and lacking credibility, explaining that he chose to address them out of respect for those genuinely seeking clarification.

Sulley Sambian, the Northern Development Authority's (NDA) acting chief executive officer (CEO), has firmly denied allegations circulating online regarding land sales, vehicle auctions, and missing assets within the organization.

In a public statement, Mr. Sambian dismissed the accusations as baseless and lacking credibility, explaining that he chose to address them out of respect for those genuinely seeking clarification.

Responding to claims about land sales in Accra and Tamale, Mr. Sambian explained that the NDA had explored partnerships to develop a property in Cantonments, only to discover missing documentation for the land title.

“The Lands Commission eventually issued a lease for 1.2 acres to the NDA,” he clarified, adding that no NDA-owned lands in Tamale were sold. “These claims are completely untrue,” he emphasized.

Regarding reports of missing motorbikes, Mr. Sambian shared that an inventory review under his leadership uncovered discrepancies.

“I instructed my deputy CEO to involve the police, which led to arrests,” he stated, condemning attempts to use the issue as a rallying point for protests.

Concerning tricycle procurement and sales, Mr. Sambian reassured that all processes adhered to strict transparency and due diligence. He also confirmed that neither he nor the board chairman had any association with the supplier.

Mr. Sambian addressed claims of a missing Toyota Hilux, explaining that the vehicle in question had been allocated to the board chairman before his appointment.

“It’s ridiculous to suggest a vehicle already assigned is missing,” he said.

Speaking on the auctioning of vehicles, he clarified that the process began prior to his tenure and was carried out in compliance with regulations. He confirmed that all auction proceeds were appropriately deposited into a government account.

Mr. Sambian criticized some media outlets for spreading unverified claims, urging journalists to prioritize accuracy and responsibility in their reporting.
