The updated curfew schedule takes effect from Tuesday, March 25, 2025, and will be enforced daily between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

The Ministry of the Interior has extended the curfew in Nkwanta township and neighboring communities within the Nkwanta South Municipality, following a recommendation from the Oti Regional Security Council.

The updated curfew schedule takes effect from Tuesday, March 25, 2025, and will be enforced daily between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

In an official release signed by Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the government called on residents to remain peaceful and to address disputes through lawful and established procedures.

"The government urges all individuals to remain calm and resolve disagreements using the appropriate legal channels," the statement emphasized.

The government also reminded the public that the prohibition on possessing firearms, ammunition, and other dangerous weapons within the affected areas is still in force. Violators will face arrest and prosecution.
