The Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, Dominic Ayine, has rejected claims that investigations and prosecutions under Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) have been compromised, insisting that no plea arrangements have been reached with any suspect.
Speaking on Thursday, 5 February, during a visit by Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang to the Ministry of Justice, Dr Ayine said the ORAL cases are progressing and are being managed through established prosecutorial channels.
He said the prosecutions are being led by his deputy and the Director of Public Prosecutions, and maintained that the integrity of the dockets submitted for action has not been affected.
Dr Ayine said no case file received by his office has been compromised, adding that the National Intelligence Bureau would support that position.
He further told the gathering that no negotiations have been conducted with any individual alleged to have committed offences falling within the ORAL mandate, stressing that the process is being pursued strictly under the law and within government’s wider accountability framework.
