Nurse found dead in suspected suicide shocks Kokofu community

The Ashanti Region is mourning the sudden death of a dedicated nurse from Kokofu Government Hospital, believed to have taken her own life.

Akosua Adutwuwaa, 37, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan at her home in Edwenase on Sunday morning. She leaves behind a two-year-old daughter.

According to family members, Akosua’s day began normally as she completed household chores and prepared breakfast for her child. 

She was last seen between 7 and 8 a.m. as the family got ready to attend church. When she suddenly disappeared, relatives searched the house, only to find her lifeless in one of the rooms.

Her body was taken to Pramso Hospital for a post-mortem examination while police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
