The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with other security agencies, has arrested Daniel Adomako, popularly known online as “Sir Obama Pokuase,” as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle illegal arms networks.
Mr. Adomako was picked up on Wednesday, August 13, over his alleged role in circulating images and videos showing individuals openly displaying high-grade, illegally acquired firearms. Police say he is currently assisting with investigations.
The operation forms part of a wider intelligence-led initiative that has, over recent weeks, led to the recovery of a significant cache of illegal arms and ammunition across the country.
In a related case, three other suspects — Prince Ofori, Yayra Abiwu, and Emmanuel Kwakye — are in custody over allegations of making death threats and publishing false news in connection with the recent helicopter crash.
The Police reaffirmed their commitment to public safety and urged citizens to provide credible information to help combat the proliferation of illegal arms.
“Further updates will be shared as investigations progress, in line with due process,” the statement signed by ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, concluded.
