The Prosecution in the murder case involving students of the O’Reilly SHS has been ordered to present the accused’s medical report on Friday, September 20, 2024.
This enables the court to know the real age of the accused student amid the confusion.
When the case was called before the La District Court today, the Prosecution indicated that the said report would be ready tomorrow but prayed for a two-week adjournment.
This was however turned down by the Magistrate, Her Worship Adwoa Benaso Asumadu-Sakyi who was of the view that such a case ought to be tried expeditiously to satisfy the budding interest of the public.
She thus ordered that the Prosecution produce the report tomorrow, Friday, September 20.
The tragic incident occurred on Monday, September 2, when the deceased, Edward, was reportedly stabbed in the chest during an altercation with a fellow student on campus.
Edward, who was studying in the General Arts Department, was involved in a dispute with a student from the Visual Arts Department, whose name has been withheld.
The altercation took place shortly after Edward had completed an exam. According to Edward’s cousin, the disagreement escalated into a physical fight.
Reports indicate that the argument was centered around a discussion about wealth, which ultimately led to Edward being stabbed three times in the chest.
The court has yet to take the plea of the accused.
