Frederick Donkor, also known as K2, was convicted on charges of unlawful entry and stealing after pleading guilty before the court, presided over by Mr. Isaac Osei Asare.

The Tarkwa District Court 2 has sentenced an 18-year-old hunter from Aboso Nsuaem in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality to 24 months of hard labor for burglary and theft.

Frederick Donkor, also known as K2, was convicted on charges of unlawful entry and stealing after pleading guilty before the court, presided over by Mr. Isaac Osei Asare.

Following the verdict, Mr. Asare advised Donkor to use his time in prison for self-improvement rather than engaging in activities that could further derail his future.

Presenting the case, Police Sergeant Enoch Assan-Donkoh stated that the complainant, a 21-year-old cocoa purchasing clerk, resided in Aboso Nsuaem.

On the night of December 31, 2024, after finishing work, the complainant locked his door and went to bed. Meanwhile, Donkor, believing that most residents would be at church for New Year's Eve services, planned to break into homes in the area. Upon reaching the complainant’s residence, he used a knife to unlock the door and entered unnoticed.

Donkor then stole GH¢2,500 in cash, a Jordan sneaker boot, and three mobile phones—a Samsung Galaxy A21, a Samsung Galaxy 8 Edge, and an iPhone X—altogether valued at GH¢9,700.

The following morning, the complainant realized his belongings were missing and immediately reported the incident to the Wassa Aboso police station.

During the police investigation, Donkor was apprehended, and the stolen mobile phones were recovered, though one had been damaged. However, he was unable to return the stolen cash or the Jordan sneaker boot.

After completing investigations, Donkor was charged and brought before the court, where he was sentenced accordingly.
