A 26-year-old trader accused of publishing abusive remarks on TikTok has been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court.
Aminat Mahama, also known as “Bawumia Ba,” appeared before the court on a charge of offensive conduct.
Her plea was not taken because her lawyer was absent.
The court granted her bail in the sum of GH¢50,000 with two sureties.
The case has been adjourned to August 3, 2026.
According to the prosecution, police intercepted a TikTok video posted on an account bearing the name “Bawumia Ba.”
In the video, the accused allegedly used insulting language directed at members of the National Democratic Congress.
The prosecution said the words used in the video were likely to cause a breach of the peace.
The court heard that police later tracked and arrested Mahama to assist investigations.
She is expected to return to court on August 3.
