Her remarks came during the 16th graduation ceremony at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) in Accra, where students from the Law and Information Technology and Communication Studies faculties were awarded certificates. During this session, 1,473 students graduated—946 earning undergraduate degrees, 315 diplomas, and 212 from the UPSA Law School.
Justice Torkornoo highlighted that true leadership involves mastering skills privately, rather than merely holding positions of authority. She urged graduates to define clear visions for their careers and personal lives, emphasizing that these visions guide the effective use of time, resources, and collaboration, which are essential for productive living.
University Chancellor Dr. Kofi Koduah Sarpong also advised graduates to view graduation as a beginning, urging them to face challenges with a mindset for growth. He stressed the importance of ethical conduct, compassion, and resilience.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey outlined the university’s progress during his eight-year tenure, which included advancements in infrastructure, global recognition, higher enrolment, and academic success, marking notable milestones in UPSA’s journey.
