Amasaman court adjourns Agradaa's case appeal to Dec. 4

At the previous sitting, the High Court directed Agradaa’s legal team to file the full record of proceedings from the Accra Circuit Court, the same court that handed her a 15-year jail term on 3 July 2025.

The Amasaman High Court Two has once more postponed the appeal hearing of evangelist and convicted fraudster Patricia Asiedua, widely known as Nana Agradaa, after key case documents failed to reach the judge.

The matter—which was expected to proceed on Thursday—has now been pushed to 4 December 2025.

At the previous sitting, the High Court directed Agradaa’s legal team to file the full record of proceedings from the Accra Circuit Court, the same court that handed her a 15-year jail term on 3 July 2025.
But when the appeal was called again, the case file remained incomplete, forcing another adjournment.

Agradaa arrived at the court complex under tight security, dressed in a white blouse, white scarf and black skirt, with a face mask covering her features.
Prison officers surrounded her on all sides — a lead officer in front, four forming a protective ring, and another following behind.

A female officer repeatedly warned bystanders against taking photographs or recording video.
After the brief appearance, she was rushed into a waiting pickup truck, lowering her head inside the vehicle to avoid cameras.

Her husband, child and several relatives were present but kept their distance as officers escorted her away.

The Founder of Heaven Way International Ministry is currently serving a 15-year custodial sentence after the Accra Circuit Court convicted her of fraud and charlatanic advertisement.

She has maintained her innocence.

The prosecution, led by ASP Emmanuel Haligah, told the trial court that:

On 10 October 2022, multiple victims reported that Agradaa had taken money from them under the pretext of offering large financial packages.

Five days earlier, she had aired promotional material on Today’s TV and social media, promising participants GHS 30,000 to settle debts or expand their businesses.

Bundles of cash were displayed during the broadcast.

The advert drew dozens to an all-night service in Accra, where groups of 20 were formed. Each participant was required to pay GHS 1,000 or more, with group totals reaching GHS 25,000 to GHS 50,000.

Agradaa, however, produced no funds. Large crowds were left stranded, and police later concluded the event was a deliberate scheme to defraud.

ASP Haligah further noted that Agradaa had a prior conviction from 2021, when she was fined GHS 10,000 for a similar offence.

Following her July conviction, her lawyers publicly described the sentence as excessive and announced plans to challenge it — the application now delayed as the High Court awaits the full record from the Circuit Court.

The appeal is set to resume on 4 December, provided all documents are finally before the judge.
