The jurors have been on an indefinite strike because of unpaid allowances, which have lasted for ten months, extending into the eleventh month in June.

The High Court trying the two teenagers accused of killing an 11-year-old boy in Kasoa for a money ritual has been postponed for the third time due to the absence of jurors.

The jurors have been on an indefinite strike because of unpaid allowances, which have lasted for ten months, extending into the eleventh month in June.

On Monday, July 8, 2024, the court session was set to conclude the trial, allowing the jury to deliver their binding verdict. However, the jurors were still absent.

As a result, the presiding judge, Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, had to reschedule the trial to July 23, 2024.

The 18-year-old, the second accused, is on trial with a 15-year-old juvenile (the first accused) for the murder of 11-year-old Ishmael Mensah Abdella in Kasoa.

The two are facing charges of conspiracy and murder before the High Court in Accra.

While the 15-year-old juvenile has confessed to the crime, stating they "committed the crime together," the second accused denies the charges.
