Nana Akosua Sakyibea I, Queenmother of Abotakyi Akuapim, has appealed for justice following the brutal killing of her daughter and two grandchildren at Tuba nearly a year ago.
Her late daughter, Alberta Hagan, and her children were murdered at Tuba Net-Link Estates, a community near Kasoa. The main suspect, Samuel Amoah, also known as Biggie, is currently standing trial before the Adabraka District Court in connection with the case.
Amoah faces three counts of murder as well as attempted murder. Though his plea has not yet been taken, the court has ordered that he remain in custody and reappear on October 13, 2025.
Addressing reporters after the court hearing, Nana Sakyibea I rejected claims that her daughter had been romantically involved with Amoah. She explained that her daughter was married, and Amoah only ran errands for her.
The Queenmother broke down as she recalled how the victims were allegedly stabbed to death.
“Why should Amoah kill my daughter and my grandchildren in this manner, I have suffered as a result of this incident. Only God knows what I am going through.
I am glad Amoah has been nabbed from his hideout. I suffered before getting Amoah’s contact and I gave same to the Police for him to be arrested. I poured libation and called on Nananom and Amoah was arrested. I only need justice, that is all I am looking for.”
She praised the Ghana Police Service, particularly the investigator in charge of the case, identified as Confidence, for their relentless efforts that led to Amoah’s arrest.
After the killings, Amoah fled the scene but was eventually tracked down at Suhum in the Eastern Region on September 17, 2025, following police intelligence.
During questioning, the accused reportedly confessed to the crime but claimed he did not understand what had driven him to commit the act.
