The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested five suspected members of the notorious motorbike robbery gang, the “Akwashee Boys,” linked to a string of violent attacks in the city.

The suspects — Iddrisu Razark (27), Iliasu Amidu (25), Serlorm Kportor (24), Noah Asumbono (26), and Collins Anafo (27) — are accused of attacking a 74-year-old woman at Adabraka on July 12, 2025, robbing her of GH₵700, a phone, and keys, and inflicting deep machete wounds on her arms.

Police say Amidu also admitted to stealing 15 motorbikes from various parts of Accra, which were sold to a buyer in Agbogbloshie. The suspects have led investigators to multiple crime scenes as efforts continue to track down other gang members and recover more stolen bikes.
