A 38-year-old man is in police custody in the Volta Region after officers say he was found with substances suspected to be controlled narcotic drugs.
Police identified the suspect as Godsway Kwaku Dogbey, and said he was arrested on Friday, 23 January 2026, following what they described as an intelligence-led operation.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the arrest followed an incident at a checkpoint at OLA Top in Ho, where the suspect allegedly failed to stop when directed and drove through a barrier.
Officers later impounded the vehicle near Tarso Hotel. Police said the car, with registration GV 2460-14, is associated with the Ghana Health Service.
Police say the suspect is assisting with investigations while enquiries continue into the alleged unlawful possession and transportation of the suspected narcotics.
