The briefing is anticipated to shed light on the current status of proceedings involving Mr Ofori-Atta and outline what steps the state has taken to protect public funds and enforce accountability.
Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, is expected to deliver a fresh update in the Government Accountability Series on Wednesday, 18 December, with a strong focus on the high-profile prosecution of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and recent gains in the fight against cybercrime.
The briefing is anticipated to shed light on the current status of proceedings involving Mr Ofori-Atta and outline what steps the state has taken to protect public funds and enforce accountability.
Officials say the session is part of a wider push by government to routinely brief citizens on major legal actions and enforcement outcomes, particularly those with significant public interest.
In a post on Facebook, Minister for Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the update will centre on “facts, progress and outcomes”, adding that the public is entitled to clear information on such matters.
“This is about accountability and restoring confidence in the justice system,” he wrote.
On cybercrime, Mr Kwakye Ofosu indicated that the state has secured “substantial recoveries” through ongoing investigations and court actions, and signalled that government intends to deepen legal and institutional responses to digital fraud.
