The Volta Regional Police Command has intensified its investigation into the murder of mobile money vendor Christopher Ahordor, with the arrest of another suspect believed to be linked to the crime.
In a statement signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Felix Danku, Public Relations Officer for the Command, police confirmed the arrest of 65-year-old Happy Sewordor, father of Michael Sewornu—one of the main suspects already in custody for the April 28 incident in Aflao.
A search of Sewordor’s residence led to the discovery of a cache of items including four single-barrel cap guns, a locally manufactured pistol, fifteen used cartridges, as well as suspected Indian hemp and illicit drugs, believed to include Tramadol. The police say the weapons and substances were traced back to a house in Aflao allegedly owned by his son.
Happy Sewordor was arraigned before court on May 21, 2025, and remanded into prison custody to assist with ongoing investigations. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 16, 2025.
In a related development, the Police Anti-Armed Robbery Unit based at the CID Headquarters in Accra apprehended three more suspects—Hadi Sulley (22), Ewe Abraham, and Eric Dordzinu (25)—on May 12. The trio was transferred to the Volta Region on May 14 and appeared in court on May 19, where they were also remanded to reappear on June 16, 2025.
Meanwhile, previously arrested individuals Korku Agboada, Utsuku Onyeso, and Michael Sewornu were arraigned on May 14 and remain in custody pending their next court date—also set for June 16, 2025.
One additional suspect, Atsu Agbagla, has been granted police enquiry bail and is assisting with further investigations.
The Volta Regional Police Command extended its gratitude to the public for continued support and assured residents of its unwavering commitment to crime prevention and regional safety.
