Swift action by the Baatsonaa Divisional Police on August 4 stopped an armed robbery near the Klagon–Ashaiman underbridge. Around 3:20 a.m., patrol officers spotted four men on two motorbikes attacking Reuben Ayiku, seizing his phone and wallet.
The suspects fled but were intercepted at Shalom Spot. Three escaped, while 23-year-old Francis Debrah, armed with a long knife, resisted arrest. Officers fired to disarm him, injuring his left arm. He is receiving treatment at the Police Hospital under guard.
Two motorbikes linked to the crime were recovered, but the victim’s stolen items remain missing. Police are pursuing the remaining suspects.
