The District Court has rescheduled the case concerning the alleged killing of Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah. Investigations remain ongoing, and the key suspect is still in custody.
The District Court has deferred proceedings in the case linked to the suspected murder of 38-year-old Immigration Officer, Stephen King Amoah, to August 8, 2025.
The postponement was confirmed during a court session held on Thursday, July 24, 2025. The main suspect remains behind bars as the police continue with their investigative work.
The incident was initially handled as a missing person or abduction case but has now been officially upgraded to a homicide. This development prompted the case to be moved to the District Court, which has the mandate to oversee more serious criminal matters.
Amoah was last seen on July 3, after leaving his residence to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate. Five days later, his partially charred remains were discovered at Abuom Junction, close to Kwabenya.
Law enforcement officers have detained a key individual, Bright Aweh, who is believed to have been the last person Amoah communicated with prior to his disappearance. He is currently in custody, with investigations still underway.
