The Eastern South Regional Police Command has apprehended four individuals linked to a deadly shooting that claimed five lives at Asiyaw, a community near Akwane-Dobro in the Nsawam enclave.

The arrested—identified as Samuel Atsu Forson (also known as Alanyo), Freeheart Kweku Sedonu, Kwesi Prince, and Benjamin Adzalekor—were picked up from different locations following police intelligence operations.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on April 29, 2025, during a heated altercation between rival groups allegedly fighting over sand-winning activities in the area. The confrontation escalated, resulting in five fatalities.

All four suspects made their initial appearance at the Osino District Court on May 2. The court ordered that Forson, Sedonu, and Prince be held in prison custody, while Adzalekor was remanded into police custody. They are all expected to reappear in court on May 8, 2025.

Police have pledged a thorough investigation into the matter, assuring the public that justice will be pursued diligently.
“The suspects will face the full rigors of the law,” the police noted in an official statement.
