The group, arrested on 5 January, pleaded guilty over the attack on tutor Michael Quayson.

Five people accused of assaulting a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School have appeared before the Kade District Court.

The group, arrested on 5 January, pleaded guilty over the attack on tutor Michael Quayson.

Four of the accused, all adults, were remanded into prison custody, while a 17-year-old was remanded into police custody.

They are expected back in court on 20 January 2026.

The case stems from an incident on 5 October 2025, when Mr Quayson was reportedly beaten by a group of students after he enforced strict supervision during examinations.

Footage of the assault circulated widely on social media, triggering public outrage and renewed calls for stronger protection for teachers in Ghanaian schools.
