The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has issued a strong warning to the public, discouraging any attempts to disarm military officers carrying out their authorized duties.
This advice comes in response to reports of groups targeting military personnel who have been deployed to assist the Ghana Police Service in maintaining law and order nationwide.
In a statement signed by Brigadier General E. Aggrey-Quarshie, the Director General of Public Relations, the GAF emphasized that "military personnel on authorized duty are entitled to protect themselves, civilians, and property. This includes, if necessary, the use of lethal force to safeguard lives."
The GAF called on citizens to exercise their civic responsibilities with care, cooperate with security agencies, and refrain from any actions that could undermine peace and stability.
Reiterating its dedication to upholding the nation’s security and sovereignty, the military appealed to all Ghanaians to support efforts aimed at restoring calm during these challenging times.
