The bursar of Ghanata Senior High School, Lamisi Sarah, has been arrested over claims that food supplies meant for students were being diverted.

Linda Ocloo, the MP for Shai-Osudoku and Greater Accra Regional Minister, confirmed the arrest, saying her office had received what she described as credible reports in recent weeks about the alleged diversion of portions of school food items.

She said the complaints were treated as a welfare and accountability issue because the supplies are meant to support students’ nutrition. Describing the allegations as a serious breach of public trust, she noted that the matter was referred to the area’s National Security team for a quiet investigation.

According to the Minister, she was in the constituency on Tuesday, February 17, when the investigation allegedly confirmed the claims, leading to Lamisi Sarah’s arrest.

“I directed the officers to hand her over to the Police so that due process can take its full course under the law,” she said, adding that investigations are continuing.

Minister Ocloo warned that incidents of this nature weaken confidence in public institutions and can directly affect students’ well-being. She said accountability would be enforced and anyone found responsible would face the law, while she remains focused on protecting student welfare and the integrity of public service.
