The GRA also warned the public to beware of fraudulent activities, urging them not to engage with or make payments to unauthorized individuals or groups mentioned in the circulating false reports.

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has refuted claims suggesting its involvement in vehicle auctions, labeling such reports as “false.” In a statement issued on December 11, the GRA clarified that it strictly follows established protocols for auctioning vehicles and goods through its Customs Division.

The GRA also warned the public to beware of fraudulent activities, urging them not to engage with or make payments to unauthorized individuals or groups mentioned in the circulating false reports.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, the authority encouraged citizens to rely solely on official channels for accurate information about its operations.

“The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has noted a fabricated media release dated December 3, 2024, regarding a vehicle auction allegedly issued by the Commissioner-General. This is completely untrue,” the statement concluded.

“The fake media release bears the signature of the former Commissioner-General, Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah but has the name of the current Commissioner-General, Madam Julie Essiam.

“GRA wishes to inform the general public that the notice circulating in the public domain is FAKE.”
