A magistrate court in Kade has fined four young men GH¢3,800 each for their role in the assault of a teacher at the Kade Senior High Technical School (SHTS).

The court, presided over by His Worship George Davis Ofori, ordered that GH¢1,800 from each fine be paid to the court, with the remaining GH¢2,000 to be paid directly to the victim as compensation.

The magistrate also warned that any of the convicts who fail to pay in full will serve six months in prison.

The sentencing follows earlier proceedings linked to the same incident, in which five people were convicted after pleading guilty to charges including conspiracy to commit a crime — to wit assault — and assault.
