The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, following the circulation of a viral video that captured him in an inappropriate situation with a female student.

In a press release dated Monday, September 29, the GES confirmed it had taken swift action after the disturbing footage began trending on social media.

The statement, signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, noted:

“Mr Aidoo has already been removed from office, and prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are being carried out.”

According to GES, the case is being treated with “utmost seriousness”, stressing that it has a responsibility to guarantee a safe and dignified learning environment for students.

The service reassured parents and the general public that internal disciplinary measures will be pursued strictly in line with institutional procedures:

“The appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with the code of conduct of the Ghana Education Service.”

In its broader response, the GES underlined its duty to protect all students in schools nationwide. The statement further read:

“The GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and well-being of students.”

The Education Service concluded by affirming its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of students while disciplinary processes continue.
