Man arrested in Western Region for unlawful possession of firearm

According to a statement released by the Western Central Regional Police Command, the suspect, identified as Yahaya Seidu, was apprehended on May 29, 2025, at Aponteng Krom.
A young man is currently in police custody and assisting with investigations after being caught with an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in the Western Region.
According to a statement released by the Western Central Regional Police Command, the suspect, identified as Yahaya Seidu, was apprehended on May 29, 2025, at Aponteng Krom. He was arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon and ammunition.
Authorities confirmed that the arrest led to the recovery of the pistol along with two live cartridges.
Seidu remains in custody while investigations continue. The police say he will be formally charged and brought before the court once inquiries are complete.
