The incident occurred during the enskinment of Lawrencia Naa Borley Nelson, also known as Naa Gamu, a queen mother of the Ga Adangme Muslim Union. She was fatally wounded when a ceremonial musket discharged, striking her in the thigh. Adjei was arrested following the tragedy.
Appearing before the court on Wednesday, February 26, Adjei faced a charge of murder.
Initial police investigations indicate that he allegedly fired live rounds from a single-barrel gun during the traditional event, striking Naa Borley in the right thigh.
Despite being rushed to the hospital for urgent medical care, Naa succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment.
